The Head of the Economic Department at the French Embassy in South Africa, Mr Bertrand Furno and the Regional Director of AFD, Ms Audrey Rojkoff, accompanied by staff from headquarters and the Johannesburg agency (representing both AFD, Proparco and Expertise France) were on mission in Gaborone on March 9, 2023 for the Embassy’s annual economic council meeting.
The Embassy’s annual economic council, organized around the French Botswana business club (FBBC), brought together about 15 representatives of the French and Botswana business communities. The agenda was focused on new technologies and innovation. It was followed by a networking reception at the residence, with 80 guests from Botswana (business community, associations) and international (IO, embassies).
The speakers at the Economic Council were the following: Mr. Liang Wang, representative of the World Bank in Botswana; Mr. Loungo Monchusi, representative of the SMARTBOTS program and Mr. Mooketsi Tekere, representative of the start-up community in Botswana.
